Thailand & Myanmar Tour Package: 16 Days
Day 1: Bangkok
We'll pick you up at Bangkok airport and take you to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day free to enjoy the city at your leisure - welcome to Thailand!
Day 2: Bangkok
After breakfast, we'll go on a sightseeing tour of Bangkok. We'll visit the most symbolic monuments around the Thai capital such as the Grand Palace, where we'll discover the important significance of this place for the country.
We'll also take a boat ride on the Chao Praya River and end the day in a very special way, climbing up to the famous Temple of Dawn to enjoy a privileged view. After this, we'll drop you off at your hotel.
Day 3: Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
We'll pick you up in the centre of Bangkok, to drive to Kanchanaburi, a place known for its role in World War II.
We'll also visit the ancient Don Rak Cemetery and the River Kwai Bridge, where we'll have some free time before driving back to your hotel in Kanchanaburi to rest.
Day 4: Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya - Phitsanulok
After breakfast at the hotel in Kanchanaburi, we'll drive to the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an impressive archaeological complex where we'll have the opportunity to admire its temples.
Afterwards, we'll drive to Phitsanulok and see the Phra Buddha Chinnara, considered by the locals as "the most beautiful Buddha in Thailand". We'll end the 4th day at the hotel in Phitsanulok.
Day 5: Phitsanulok - Sukhothai - Chiang Rai
Once we've had breakfast, we'll drive to Sukhothai to visit its impressive historical park. We'll then continue north and stop at Phayao Lake to enjoy the scenery and stretch our legs before continuing on to our destination. We'll arrive in Chiang Rai and drop you off at your hotel.
Day 6: Chiang Rai - Golden Triangle - Chiang Rai
We'll start the day with an excursion to Mae Chan to meet the Yao tribe and the locals who live on Akha Hill. We'll learn about their way of life and then continue on to Mae Sai, the northernmost border between Thailand and Myanmar.
During the day we'll also see the famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet, a unique landscape! We'll end the day by returning to the hotel in Chiang Rai.
Day 7: Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai
After breakfast, we'll visit the most impressive temples of the area: the Blue Temple and the White Temple, two architectural jewels in Chiang Rai. We'll also visit Wat Rong Suea Ten, a temple that stands out for its vibrant colours.
The next stop of the day will be Chiang Mai, where we'll learn and experience the meaning of the word Kra - Nok. We'll finish by dropping you off at your hotel in Chiang Mai.
Day 8: Chiang Mai - Ran-Tong - Chiang Mai
On the eighth day, we'll have a very special experience. After breakfast, we'll head to the Ran-Tong Elephant Rescue Centre. This place takes in elephants that have been mistreated both in Thailand and in neighbouring countries and you'll be able to learn about the work they do. We'll also visit an orchid plantation. At the end of the day, we'll take you back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.
Day 9: Chiang Mai - Bangkok - Yangon
From your hotel in Chiang Mai, you'll be driven to Bangkok airport, where you'll take a flight to Yangon. Once you land in Myanmar's largest city, we'll be waiting to take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 10: Yangon - Bagan
Early in the morning, we'll transfer to the airport to board a flight to Bagan. Once there, we'll take an electric bike tour to see the ancient pagodas and temples.
Finally, before returning to the hotel in Bagan, we'll climb to one of the highest points of the city to enjoy a very special sunset.
Day 11: Bagan - Mandalay
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll drive 4 hours to Mandalay. On the way, we'll visit Mount Popa to climb to the top and meet the friendly monkeys that inhabit this land.
When we arrive in Mandalay, we'll walk up to the hill of the same name to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. At the end of the day, we'll take you back to the hotel to rest.
Day 12: Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Mandalay jetty for a relaxing 1 hour boat ride to Mingun. Upon disembarkation, you'll be amazed by the impressive size of Pahtodawgyi, the largest unfinished pagoda in the world.
In the afternoon, we'll visit the most important religious monuments in Myanmar: the Mahamuni Pagoda and the Mahamuni Buddha. We'll also see the Golden Palace Monastery, the Kuthodaw Pagoda and the U Bein Teak Bridge. We'll end the day by returning to the hotel in Mandalay.
Day 13: Mandalay - He Hoe - Nyaung Shwe
Early in the morning, we'll take a flight to He Hoe, and head to Nyaung Shwe to visit Inle Lake, the second largest lake in Myanmar. There, we'll board a boat to admire the famous floating gardens and learn about the traditional way of fishing in the area. Afterwards, we wi'll enjoy a traditional lunch in an Intha house.
The tour will continue to a lotus silk weaving workshop and Nga Hpe Kyaung Monastery, the main shrine of the lake. Afterwards, we'll drive you to the hotel in Nyaung Shwe.
Day 14: Nyaung Shwe - Pindaya
Early in the morning, you'll be driven to Pindaya for a two-day trekking tour. The first stop will be at a traditional market, where we'll buy supplies to continue trekking towards Danu village. Afterwards, we'll hike up the hill past a tea plantation and a local farm to enjoy the view over the town of Pindaya. Along the way, we'll stop for lunch and refuel at a local restaurant.
We'll continue trekking for another 2 hours until we reach the Danu village of See Kyat Inn, where we'll enjoy a traditional dinner and stay in an ancient monastery.
Day 15: Pindaya - He Hoe - Yangon
After breakfast, we'll take a 1 hour walk to a tea plantation, where we'll learn about the production process of this famous beverage. We'll then return to the starting point and drive you to He Hoe airport to fly back to Yangon. Upon landing, you'll be driven to your hotel.
Day 16: Yangon
We'll have breakfast at the hotel and drive you to Yangon airport in time to catch your flight. This is the end of an impressive 16-day trip through Thailand and Myanmar.
